Discord Plugins & How to Use Them

by admin

Discord is amazing, but sometimes it can be a little boring. Yeah, dark and light themes are great and all, but what if you could add some colour and get a little more creative? What if you could add cool features to your servers like call time clocks, Spotify controls, and badges in chat? Well, the good news is you can.

BetterDiscord is a program which allows you to install third party plugins that add cool new features to give you a better discord server. In this article we’ll show you how to use Discord addons and Discord server plugins. We’ll also discuss whether using plugins for Discord will get you banned.

Are you allowed to use Discord plugins?

Using plugins with Discord is technically against Discord’s terms of service and therefore it’s a bannable offense. It’s up to you whether you run that risk, but technically the answer is no.

Are plugins Bannable on Discord?

Yes, because using plugins is against Discord’s terms of service, using them is technically a bannable offense.

However, according to BetterDiscord’s FAQ section, Discord does not hand out bans for using BetterDiscord to use plugins, it only bans people if they use Better Discord to violate other terms of service. Here’s what they say in full:

“Discord does not hand out bans for simply using BetterDiscord. If you abuse the service to further violate discord’s policies, you risk account suspension.”

From simple visual enhancements such as themes, displaying call times and server creation dates, to more complex functionality enhancements such as adding Spotify controls and formatting tools – there’s a lot Discord plugins can do. Double-click-to-edit: It’s a simple one, but boy is it useful. Installing Double-click-to-edit lets you double click on messages you’ve sent in Discord to quickly edit them.

JoinedAtDate: Another simple one, JoinedAtDate adds the date someone joined a server to their UserPopout and UserModal. A nice one to keep track of how long your community members have been around.
